11 Years of Gluten-Free Globetrotter

Exactly 11 years ago this week, I launched this Gluten-Free Globetrotter website.

At the time, I was traveling in the Czech Republic and had gluten-free beer on tap for the very first time IN MY LIFE. I felt like I wanted to shout this news from the rooftops. Here I was traveling alone thousands of miles from home in a country where I didn’t speak the language. I was eating a totally gluten-free meal and drinking gluten-free beer. It was one of those surreal celiac travel moments that I will never forget.

My lifelong experience of living with celiac disease plus my love of travel inspired me to start Gluten-Free Globetrotter. I felt if I could help just one person navigate gluten-free travel by sharing my experiences, that would be enough for me. I never could have imagined the wonderful international friends I would make along the way. Plus, I have been honored to have some really amazing travel experiences over the past 11 years thanks to this website.

When I launched in 2011, gluten-free travel resources on the internet were almost non-existent. I knew I couldn’t possibly be alone with both living with celiac disease and loving to travel. I was hoping to inspire other Gluten-Free Globetrotters through my website. I am honored to be a trailblazer in the gluten-free travel world.

Today, I not only celebrate 11 years of Gluten-Free Globetrotter but also the thousands of YOU that I have connected with thanks to this website and my social media. I appreciate you being here and for all of your support over the past 11 years. It is you that keeps me going in this ever changing gluten-free world.

Thank you for being here.
