Relocating to Canada
When I started my journey to moving to Canada from New York City earlier this year, I had no clue where to start. My type-A personality went into overdrive looking for resources, building spreadsheets, and doing all of the research I could about Canada, specifically Quebec (which is a challenge in itself!) There was just SO much information and I was feeling overwhelmed.
Through social media, I connected with Doris Dario, a travel and relocation coach. I was intrigued by Doris’s travel experience, her nomadic lifestyle with children, and her approach to helping others with relocation.
I started working with Doris over the course of many weeks. She helped give me a new perspective about relocating to a foreign country. Doris provided me with top tips, gave me homework, and helped me do a lot of introspective thinking about the unknown that was lying ahead of me and my family. It was very helpful and made me realize that I could tackle one of the biggest changes of my life.
Fast forward to November 2024 and the number one question I am now getting through my social media channels is “How can I move to Canada too?” Well, I wish I could say it is easy but it is not. You cannot simply drive across the border and declare a new residency. I do plan on putting together a specific post about MY personal experience with moving to Canada. This includes information about work visas, residency, health care, and more.
In the meantime, I invite you to join Doris and I as we talk about the process of relocating to a new country. Doris and I will walk through how we worked together, things we both learned along the way, and she will share her travel and relocation tips.
