One week from today I am going LIVE! I often get emails and direct messages that ask me how I travel the world with celiac disease, what to pack, and what to eat in specific cities. I thought a Facebook live event would be a great way to share some of your most commonly asked questions and let you interact with one another in the comments section.
I have some exciting new things to share during the Facebook live event and everyone who attends will be entered to win a giveaway of exciting gluten-free prizes. You won’t want to miss it.
Do you have any specific topics you want me to discuss in this Facebook live? Either email me or leave a comment below.
To attend this Facebook live event, all you need is Internet access. Simply click this link to RSVP or just join us on the day of the event!
Hi Erin. I’ve RSVPD to this event. Looking forward to it. I’m a retired travel consultant so love to travel. I was diagnosed with CD 7 years ago,( after I retired). I find traveling in Canada extremely easy (I’m Canadian…maybe that makes a difference)and the USA is pretty good too. I didn’t have too much trouble in Europe. My boyfriend wants to go to Africa and do some Safaris. I think it’s the uk own for me here that concerns me. Any tips and tricks you can provide would be appreciated. I always travel with snacks, etc. Is there anything that I cannot bring into Africa hope you javelin a chance to explore that a bit. Thank you. Louise Landry
Ohhh, I would LOVE to go on a Safari. There are definitely restrictions of foods that you can bring into foreign countries. I will add this to the agenda!
Hi Erin – My question is, what kind of investigation do you do before you’ll eat at a restaurant? Do you ever actually go in to the kitchens and talk to the managers? Ask about ingredient sourcing? I am SO sensitive (in terms of my antibody levels still being high after a strict almost two years of being GF). “Strict” meaning being on the Fasano diet for a lot of it, removing grains, corn, beans, and more for a long time for risk of cc, only eating Certified, never eating at anyone’s house, replacing my whole kitchen practically, only four celiac approved restaurant visits in 2 years ….needless to say I am so nervous to eat out on travel, but want to be able to for my sanity! Thanks!
Great question, Robin! I do a lot of research and crowd sourcing of information before I travel. I will definitely address some of the steps I take before dining out both in the US and abroad. I hope you can join in the live event!
