Bonjour! Hi!

It has been a good three months (yikes!) since I posted here but I have a great excuse. I moved to Canada! Yes, it is true. I left my beloved New York City behind and I am now living in Montreal, Quebec.
While I have been quiet here on my blog, I have been very active on my Instagram account. In addition to social media have my Facebook Celiac Travel group and my Gluten-Free in New York City group. I also am an author over on Thatch where I just created my Gluten-Free Croissants in Montreal guide. I also updated my Dedicated Gluten-Free in New York City directory and have something HUGE coming soon with that guide. So even though I haven’t posted here, I have been busy keeping in touch and pumping out content for the gluten-free community. .
I also have my newsletter which I try to send out monthly. You can catch up with my moving to Canada story on my last newsletter here. Sign up while you are there!
Gluten-Free Summer in Montreal
There is really so much to catch you up on about my summer and all of the adventures we have been having in Montreal. I have been eating my way through this city and although locals may not agree, I find it not too difficult to eat here. Compared to the United States, there is a much better general awareness about needing gluten-free food for celiac. I’ve found GF croissants, dedicated fryers, and even GF poutine. (Sorry, not a fan!)
We have also been exploring Montreal like crazy. There is so much to do here and this summer has been full of festivals, canal boat rides, playgrounds, parks, and so much more. I am blown away by how much activity is going on in Montreal. I feel like every weekend I have a hard time choosing exactly what to do. I love being a tourist in my new city and cannot wait to continue exploring throughout the fall.

What’s Next for Gluten-Free Globetrotter in Montreal
Even though we’ve been here eight weeks, there is still so much more settling in to do. Montreal might only be 7 hours away from Brooklyn, but Canada is a different country and I didn’t realize exactly how different. I am navigating a new health system, new banking, new schools, and of course, FRENCH. I am trying to learn everything I can about living in Quebec. From what I hear from my other Canadian friends, it is quite different from the rest of the country.
I have so many plans for Gluten-Free Globetrotter this fall. I am building something super cool for New York City, I have a few fun collaborations planned, and event some new gluten-free events here in Montreal. I just need to buckle down and find time to do everything. (Note: if anyone knows a good business coach, I could use help organizing my thoughts! Drop me a message)
I appreciate all of the messages you have sent me through Instagram and Facebook. Your support has really helped me through this life-changing experience.
Do you have any suggestions of where I should dine or explore in Montreal and the greater Quebec region? Send them my way!
Bonjour et felicitations! I am so happy that you are settling in and enjoying your new home! Canada is way ahead of the US on many things gluten — as I am sure you already knew! My husband and I spent many winter vacations skiing near Montreal, and my high school French came in handy — they told me I had a Parisian accent! Who knew! I am eager to hear of your future escapades as they unfold! Thanks for all that you do!
