In my travels, I have realized that some of the best resources when planning a gluten-free trip are from local Celiac Disease organizations. Usually these organizations will list local restaurants and sometimes provide you with locally translated dining cards to assist you in their country. I recommend writing to the groups prior to your international travel to ask for help and suggestions. You might be surprised by their willingness to help.
◊ When searching for these organizations, use alternate spellings of Celiac, such as Coeliac. Also, try finding the local translation for gluten-free and then plug that and the city name into Google for your search.
◊ There may be more than one organization in the country you are traveling to, as well as local/city groups. I suggest reaching out to all groups in order to get the best summary of your gluten-free travel destination.

Hi Erin,
that’s a nice website, thank you.
I also like to give you the link to the “Coeliac Youth of Europe” (CYE). They are the national delegates of the European Celiac Youth boards and maintaining a website which fits into your main aim. Please, have a look for TravelNet and add links ‘other ‘Coeliac Societies’.
Cheers
Dirk
